Description
This painting is showing people on Gloucester Harbor enjoying the Summer. The large sailboat in the foreground is just leaving Smith Cove and is in front of the North Shore Art Association on Pirates Lane. Not too long ago I spent two weeks in a building on the opposite shore which was built right down into the water. You can see it in this painting. I first did a small sketch on a 3X5 piece of venetian blind I cut into small pieces for this purpose. The sketch was exciting enough to try to develop in a larger painting. I used reference photos from my two weeks on the Harbor as well as my 20+ years of living in Gloucester to compose this painting. A Studio painting for sure. I just got finished reworking
this painting and have now loaded it on FAA
